Respecting People & Nature

Our family has grown the tastiest fresh herbs in Andijk for decades. We combine true craftsmanship with innovative techniques whilst respecting both people and nature. This means, for example, that our work is still largely done by hand, that we use insects instead of pesticides to create a healthy growing climate and that we experiment extensively to improve our products and growing techniques. A successful approach, so far: it’s how we, for instance, developed our own airy and nutritious loam, the perfect substrate for strong and tasty plants.

Responsible cultivation

Quality
first

Known for our dedication to quality, seed suppliers, breeders and herb growers around us regularly come over to see us at work in Andijk. No problem, we are happy to show them – and let them taste – how respect for nature, years of growing experience, attention to every pot and passion for the trade leads to the best results.

Four generations of
the Buysman family

Almost a century ago, Piet Buysman began growing cabbage, potatoes, onions and flower bulbs in Lutjebroek, a small Dutch village. In 1950, his sons took over his thriving company and successfully focused on growing cauliflower.

In 1973, the third generation took over and moved the company to Andijk in 1983. An inspiring move, as it turned out: after a successful chive-growing experiment in 1985 the range of herbs quickly expanded.

By 1997, Buysman Kruiden had become the company we know today, only to be joined by the fourth generation of the Buysman family over time as part of its management. And successfully so!
