Adds freshness to dishes… and to numerous types of drinks: from tea and sparkling water to, of course, the world-famous mojito!

Tasty with...

Summer dishes, salads, raw vegetables, yoghurt, courgette or carrots, and with fish, chicken, veal and lamb. Or in fruit salads and on ice cream. And why not allow a sprig of mint to infuse in a cup of boiling water and enjoy a cup of mint tea? A few leaves with a slice of lemon in ice-cold water (sparkling or still) is also delicious!

Origin

The ancient Greeks believed that mint was created when Hades, god of the underworld, fell in love with the beautiful Mentha. Hades’ wife Persephone became jealous and turned Mentha into a plant. The ancient Greeks and Egyptians buried their dead with a bunch of mint. From the Mediterranean Sea, the popularity of the plant spread to more northern areas.

Healthy?

Absolutely. Mint is a great weapon in the fight against colds: a vapour bath eases dry coughs and blocked noses and helps against sore throats. Mint also relieves indigestion, stomach cramps, stomach ulcers, headaches, migraines, asthma and itching.
